The mounted axles are the main subassemblies of the bogies through which the wagon can roll on the railway tracks. The repair of the mounted axle is carried out in a specialized workshop and involves the following operations depending on the type of repair needed:

Verification of the axle bearing bearings, an operation involving the dismantling of the bearings, washing them, inspecting their rollers and cages, checking the radial and axial clearances of the bearings on a specialized device subjected to AFER certification, reassembling them into the bearing boxes, and greasing them.
Repair of the bearing boxes: The operation consists of dimensional verification, if necessary, and involves rewelding/replacing the manganese plates that have cracked welds or are non-compliant in terms of their integrity.
For all axle components subjected to inspection/repair, depending on the type of repair, the measurement results are recorded by completing the obtained values in measurement sheets/verification certificates.
After completing the repair of the components and reassembling the axle, it undergoes corrosion protection, application of required markings, and delivery to be mounted under the bogie frame.
