The Wheelset Overhaul (WO) is mandatory three years after the Scheduled Repair. The date of this overhaul is inscribed on the wagon at the time of the Scheduled Repair.
The Wheelset Overhaul is primarily performed within the company and strictly involves the inspection and repair, if necessary, of the wagon’s mounted axles. The overhaul is conducted based on a Technical Specification approved by ASFR. The works performed include checking the rolling profile, verifying the lubrication of the bearings, and inspecting the condition of the mounted axles using ultrasonic flaw detection. If the mounted axles show wear or defects, they are remedied within the company, as the company possesses specialized equipment for turning the rolling profile.
